The Exness Trade app is a package that Google Play or the App Store installs and keeps current. The Exness Terminal is not installed at all: the browser fetches it each time the page is opened. Which kind fits the machine in front of you
Answer the machine question first and the name follows. A phone is a store machine, so the Exness Trade app from Google Play or the App Store is the kind that belongs there — installed and kept current by the store rather than by anyone on the handset. A computer that can be administered takes an install: MetaTrader 5 or MetaTrader 4 writes itself onto Windows or macOS and keeps its own local material beside it. A computer that cannot be administered, or one that will not be used again, takes the Exness Terminal, which installs nothing and leaves nothing. Google Play and the App Store are the official app sources; a package pulled from a third-party site such as apkpure is an unmanaged copy and is not recommended for a financial app.

An installed terminal is a copy. The files are written once onto the computer and stay there. Opening the program starts that copy, and it keeps running from the same place whether or not anything newer has been published since. Next to the program, the copy accumulates local material — chart templates, saved profiles, indicator files — that exists on that machine only.
A store app is a managed copy. Google Play and the App Store hold the package, place it on the handset and hold the entitlement against a store account rather than against the phone. A new phone signed into the same store account gets the same app back. The copy is replaceable, and it is the store, not the handset, that defines what a valid copy is.
A browser terminal is not a copy at all. Nothing installs: the page is delivered when it is opened and discarded when the tab closes. There is no version on the machine that could be out of date, and equally nothing local to back up, migrate or reinstall.
Who decides when the version changes
This is the difference that catches people out, because nobody picks a download by update policy. With an installed terminal the authority sits with the program: it checks its own update channel when it starts and applies changes on its own schedule, and on a shared or work computer an administrator can stop that entirely. With a store app the authority sits with the store: platform rules and the phone's auto-update switch decide when a new package arrives, and switching auto-update off can leave an old package in place indefinitely.
With the browser terminal no authority is exercised on the device at all, because whatever is served is what runs. Three names on one page, three different owners of the same decision — and that decision is what determines whether the thing on screen next month is the thing chosen today.
What counts as yours in each case
An installed terminal produces material that belongs to that installation: templates, profiles and indicator files written alongside it. A fresh install on another machine does not bring them; they are copied across deliberately or rebuilt from scratch.
A store app produces almost nothing of that kind. What belongs to the person is the entitlement held by the store account, which is exactly why replacing a handset is uneventful and why nothing has to be planned before doing it.
A browser terminal produces nothing beyond a browser session. On a borrowed or locked-down machine that is the point of it; on a personal one it is the limit of it.
Four questions that pick the kind before the name
- Whose machine is it? On a computer nobody here administers, an installed terminal may be blocked outright, and the browser terminal is the only kind that asks nothing of the machine.
- Is local material needed? Templates, saved profiles and indicator files exist only for an installed terminal. If none of that is in use yet, installing buys nothing.
- How many devices will this be opened on? Every install is separate and every one is set up again by hand. A store app and a browser terminal are re-obtainable rather than reproducible.
- Who should hold the version? The program itself on a desktop install, the store on a phone, nobody in a browser.
